The Dead Sea, Israel Nov 14: One finalist in new ‘Seven Natural Wonders of the World’ the Dead Sea is a salt lake between Israel and the West Bank to the west, and Jordan to the east. It is 422 meters (1,385 ft) below sea level, and its shores are the lowest point on the surface of Earth on dry land. The Dead Sea has attracted visitors from around the world for its salts, mud, minerals and natural healing centers.
